Senior Year is Over, So College, Here We Go!

My last year of high school could not have been any better. By far, senior year blew the other three years away because in some moments of time, it was legendary.

I started off the year with my best friend, Sean. We were the Chinese Club presidents too!..And pretty much together's company for every club we were in. Except I kind of won for being more awesome in Senior Executive Board. :)

That awkward time when we opened the night.
Yearbook Dinner! My goodness, one of my favorite dinners!
My favorite and only Yearbook Editor Partner! Clubs & Activities FTW!
Sean and I at Senior Brunch. One of the great things Senior Exec did!
My clubs and activities meant everything to me! Maybe that's why I chose to be Clubs & Activities Editor. The best part about being the editor are the photos that I get to see before anyone else, View every single raw photo before it enters the yearbook, and to be one of the few people who chooses who deserves to appear in the book.

Last winter, I met some very special people. Long story short, sometimes, small little things can lead to insane outcomes. Someone in particular...my boyfriend at the time, Bissem.

Might as well throw in a Prom pic, right?
In all honesty, even though my junior year and senior year Prom were practically the same thing in terms of location and excitement, Senior prom definitely won. I guess it depends on who you go with and what makes it fun.

Another highlight of the school year, Badminton! Being in Varsity again, I had a slim chance making it to state and even though it was a super close opportunity, I did not make it, but I did score keep for IHSA! Looks good on resumes I guess?

As one of the dedicated students in Senior Executive Board, I had the honor of changing the tassel in front of the whole entire class! The experience will be in my memory forever. To see all the hats fly off and everyone changing the tassel...It's really touching!
Doing the honor of the tassel change!
Shaking Mr. Tenopir's Hand!
2016 was a great year. Definitely one of my favorites.

Senior Year, Leggo

Yup, that's my yearbook photo this year! I've been getting into a lot of photography lately. My aunt bought me a Canon EOS Rebel T5 as an early birthday present. I've been using it a little bit. The only bad thing about living in the suburbs is having nothing to take pictures of. (Or I'm just lazy and can't find locations..lol) My interest consists of scenery and abstract photos. My favorite type of photos are with the bokeh affect. It's when you unfocus a picture with lights in it. As a senior, there aren't a lot of other classes to take, so I thought I might as well take Digital Media of Arts....which is pretty much Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I never knew how much it could change my artistic life. I haven't used PS for any of my photos yet, but I'm so excited to! I see many A+ on the way. ;)

Pictures of people are great too. As long as there's something up close to focus on.

I'm almost 18..Just 19 more days! It's actually pretty crazy to think about. I got 19 days to commit a felony and be charged as a minor. hehe I hear that saying a lot from my history teacher. x3
I'm freaking out about the ACTs at the moment. 6 more days..I get one last chance to redeem my horrible score that I will not share on here. Otherwise, I've been volunteering at a Senior Nursing Home. I play piano and sing for them and they really love it!! Performing without judgmental people beside me is the best feeling ever! And to know that they genuinely enjoy our music feels amazing! :D
I was playing River Flows in You

Song of the Day:

Kygo (feat. Ella Henderson) - Here For You

The instrumental version is called "ID" which is the Ultra Music Festival 2015 Anthem! Tropical House is his genre apparently. You got a fan right here! Now Kygo decided to add Ella Henderson's delicate Spinto Soprano voice to chime into this beautiful melody. :3 I'm not sure if I like it more or less. I love singing it though? Definitely gave me another aspect towards this piece. Can't wait for Kygo to visit Chicago. Count me in.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This "holiday" is....either the worse day of your life or one of the better days. If you think of it that way, stop! Valentine's day can be so overrated lol but let's not forget that there's love for family, friends, and from what I've seen, food. So cheer up and eat a bucket of ice cream...or fruit! Stay healthy ;)

Here are some nice things my friends and I did for Valentine's day!

John danced for Sharon! I had a lot of fun editing this video for the past 2 weeks! Except it was also frustrating because I only had 20 minutes everyday to edit. D: I got it in on time though!

Valentine - Kina Grannis

Nathan sings "Just The Way You Are" by: Bruno Mars to Sarah! Tears may have been shed. :P

Listen to the rough studio version:

Sarah asked Nathan to turnabout in a very creative way~ so pretttyyyy!!!

Jerry baked me a cake!  And it was quite delicious! Then, we pretty much hung out all day and watched "The Interview" hahaha still didn't finish the movie! Ahh I love him hahaha

I sang "In Your Arms" for Jerry! I have to thank Nathan for playing the guitar and the "ukelin" (violin chords that sounds like a ukelele) and John for playing the drums! Everything was recorded in one take.

Check out a song cover by my very good friend!

Fast Car - Tracy Chapman

If you read my earlier post, you'd know who Nathan is! We recently bought a mic and we tested it out with this song that he constantly plays when he has his guitar around haha. He of the most talented people I know. I hate to say it if he's reading this but... I'm so thankful I met someone as talented as him! I can see him going far in life~ More covers to come! Our band "The Elucidators" is currently working on the song, "Up" by: Olly Murs featuring Demi Lovato!!!!!

January - Song of the Month

Posting my current "favorite" song helps me remember what I've been listening on repeat. :D
And since I haven't done this for a while, I'll post 4 awesome songs I've been jamming out to lately!

Song of the Month:

Major Lazer - All My Love (feat. Ariana Grande)

I'm not really sure why I like this song...I think my favorite part of the song is the beginning when she sings, "Sometimes, I think we're the brightest stars, and I try to believe we'll find a way.." and the bridge is pretty sweet as well. If you're looking for a good song to jump to, I recommend this one. Gotta love the laser-y noises..?

Above &Beyond - Quieter Is Louder

One day, I went on iTunes Radio's First Play playlist! I actually clicked it on accident, but then I hear this song. Very soothing and relaxing!!! If you need to study or hate silence, perfect song right here!

Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do

From the original movie soundtrack of Fifty Shades of Grey. Yes, there are some inappropriate parts to the song and video, but let's be mature about this. The song is beautiful and I get it...All duh feels, the mood it sets when you're with your loved one.. All of that.. :3 This video was also well done. It flows with the movie scenes and transitions well. Ellie's dance moves were elegant and you get that fancy feel to the video. Oh. Did I mention that ELLIE GOULDING IS AMAZING? :O I think that's a given though heheh

Calvin Harris - Outside (feat. Ellie Goulding)

Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding always make a good team! "I Need Your Love" was a smashing hit and they're doing it again! "Outside" has been getting a lot more airplay and it makes me so happy! It's climbing up the Billboard Hot 100's chart! Just the melody to this song! I love the rhythm and beat that goes with it, as well as Ellie's voice. Calvin's album, "Motion" has been out since October, but Calvin has been releasing singles slowly. I also really love "Blame (feat. John Newman)"! There's the that autumn feel to it and it's got some awesome beats to it.

So it's been two years since I posted, huh

Time is honestly going by too quickly. WHAT IS HAPPENINGGG!! OAO
Hi no one....! Pretty sure no one reads my post but I write a blog anyway... Just in case I need this site one day... I have one. I noticed my banner disappeared...whoops.. I should probably make a new one and fix up this site before I show someone haha

Well it's a New Year!!! Hiiii 2015! It's been great so far! Some updates.. I just had my 5th American Grands performance yesterday! I went with a date for the first time!! My boyfriend! I must admit, he's the best boyfriend ever. I can't tell you guys (no one lolol) how amazing he is. He's so kind, caring, smart, and maybe he worries too much about me, but that's okay because that's when you know they really love ya. ;)

Some other interesting things that happened in my life lately... I'm in a band now! In November 2014, my friends and I formed a band for our school variety show. It was pretty crazy...Here's the story...Basically my crazy friend (or brother..) Nathan played the song "I Wouldn't Mind" by: He Is We and I said, "Heeeey, I know this song!" and he said, "oh my god! we should do this for the v-show!" and let's not forget that auditions was in two days... >_< So there was a lot of stress going on! Nathan composed a violin part to the song for the girl he likes and now dating, Sarah~!  The amazing violinist in our band hehe. Sarah learned the song in one or two runs! I don't think I could ever do that.
The only time we had to rehearse was during lunch or after school... During lunch, we went into a practice room and guess who we found there? SHARON~!!! An amazing artist, cellist, and pianist! She was practicing piano and I just blurted, "Heeey Sharon...YOU SHOULD PLAY PIANO FOR OUR SONG!!!!" and so she did. She learned it in a few hours, played some chords and bam. mastered. So we auditioned 2 days later and WE GOT IN!

After all that, we found out our good friend, John, is a drummer! But unfortunately, it was too late to add a band member to the variety show, but it's okay! He's still in the band and we're doing great!

We call ourselves... The Elucidators

There's definitely a lot more that has went on, but it's 12AM now, and I should sleep.. school tomorrow!!! Sigh. :(

WOOO!!! IT'S STILL JULY!

So last time I blogged, it was June. Pretty proud of myself for continuing the next month. Maybe because I'm extremely bored. I finished Health summer school. It was alright because having friends makes everything better. And signing up last minute isn't always a bad thing ;) I got to be with my two friends I wanted to be with! It's pretty awesome how that worked out. hehe :P

Besides 3 weeks of summer school, I got drivers education! I got my permit on the 15th. And I drove 4 hours so far. I'm actually not that bad. I'd say pretty good for a person who drove for their second time. Although watching those videos in drivers ed is horrible. I could never look. It's naaaasty. Oh, same with health. Both subjects can be so graphic and horrifying. I couldn't look at all, or I'll be scarred for life. The last day of drivers ed is tomorrow, Monday. I have nooo idea what's going to be on the final but I should be fine. haha omg, i ramble so much..

After that's done, AUGUST..
CALIFORNIA...
AND SCHOOL.
Well summer seemed pretty short.. I wasted June doing almost nothing.. and then I filled up July with more school. I don't regret it because I'd like to get ahead of school and since I've been nagging my mom to sign me up for drivers ed since last September, I'm finally a happy camper having that out of my way.

Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing with my life. I can't necessarily say "just live one day at a time". That doesn't apply to EVERYTHING. Sometimes you have to set that quote aside. Unless you're dealing with emotions. You can't do anything about that other than to ignore it. BLAGH.
I need to stop being lazy. Really. I plan on putting up a cover on youtube or something fun like that. Sing and have fun. I don't care if people judge my voice at this point. Okay. maybe i do :P But I need the equipment :(

Song of the Month:

You guys know who Ryan Tedder right? The fantastic producer, singer/songwriter of OneRepublic? He wrote "Burn" with Brent Kutzl, Noel Zancanella, and Greg Kurstin. This song was originally for Leona Lewis but wasn't released in her album "Glassheart"
I just love it. listen to it
